Fresh ingredients like authentic Italian flour, olive oil and cheeses go into every Assaggio dish making this restaurant a representative taste of Italy.

The rustic and welcoming atmosphere is complemented by a spectacular terrace that overlooks Victoria Harbour and a private room that makes you feel at home. While being a nice getaway and alfresco dining spot that pleasantly caters to your needs, the menu of Assaggio Trattoria Italiana features a range of handmade pasta as well as Ospitalità Italiana qualified ingredients imported straight from Italy. The modern Italian cuisine draws on a number of influences, yet still manages to satisfy both discriminating diners as well as more down-to-earth people who know about traditional Italian fare.

Brand concept

Once inside 2011 Global Design award-winning Assaggio Trattoria Italiana, guests are treated to an intimate, modern and eclectic ambience. The venue is divided into an open pasta station, dining room, a private room that can comfortably seat up to 12 guests, and an inviting outdoor terrace area overlooking the Victoria Harbour for alfresco dining. There are artworks hanging on the walls with simple rustic furniture and wooden tables to complete the vibrant and lively atmosphere where people can unwind and get together for a fun Italian meal. The restaurant won the Outstanding Greater China Design award in 2011.

Assaggio chef

A native of Piedmont, the region in northern Italy famous for white truffle and numerous gastronomic delights, Francesco has developed his love for cooking since a young age. With a diverse and extensive culinary background working in different kitchens across Europe and the Middle East, Francesco spent his formative years of training and working in Italy and Switzerland; then moved to Dubai and worked as the specialty chef at a prestigious hotel, where he showcased simple but authentic Italian food with a focus on fresh homemade pasta and antipasti. Francesco is particularly adept at crafting fresh pasta and he was awarded second place in the Pasta World Championship (PWC) U.A.E. SESSION in 2013. His menu will feature a selection of pasta based on seasonal ingredients from Italy, with versatile flavors and a beautiful presentation.
Appointed as the Brand Chef of Assaggio Trattoria Italian, Francesco is bringing the spirit of authentic Northern Italian-style cuisine with a modern, creative touch to Hong Kong.
