Tsui Hang Village – Favourite Cantonese Dishes

Over the decades, Tsui Hang Village walks through dining trends with Hong Kong diners, archiving Hong Kong culinary history and memory throughout 45 years. In this summer, Tsui Hang Village specially selects 8 classic Cantonese recipes and recreates them with modern culinary technique, keeping the essence of the recipe at the same time subliming the flavours and dining experience.

Eighty’s – Dining Treat Favourites
Dining out was regarded as a prestige habit in the Eighty’s, mainly for business or celebrations. Restaurants present delicacies with exquisite ingredients and detailed-oriented preparation, like Braised Sea Cucumber stuffed with Shrimp Paste and topped with Caviar and Braised Partridge and Yam Soup with Bird’s Nest. Apart from these delicacies, some restaurants made good use of low-cost ingredients and turned them into flavoursome and presentable dishes, such as Roasted Chicken Liver and Pork Rolls and Baked Fish’s Intestines with Duo Eggs.

Ninety’s – Family Dine-out Favourites
Dining-out becomes a trend for local families during the Ninety’s, while restaurants adapted to more economic and family-friendly menu selections. Some all-time-favourite dishes include Crispy Baby Pigeon, Roasted Pipa Chicken in Homemade Sauce, Pan-fried King Prawn in Homemade Soy Sauce and Sweet and Sour Pork served in Whole Pineapple.
